Description

Fall for this high quality organic Maté Nature. This highly energising drink, emblematic of Latin American countries, is traditionally drunk in a calabash. In France its popularity has been growing since 2016 thanks to the footballer Antoine Griezmann.

WHAT IS MATE?

Yerba mate is a shrub native to South America. Maté can be called mate tea because it can be referred to as "Paraguay tea" or "Brazilian tea", yerba mate is close to holly. Maté is prepared by infusing the leaves of the Yerba Maté plant, which are first roasted, dried and then ground.

This traditional South American drink has been consumed for thousands of years by the indigenous Guarani tribe for its vitality and longevity benefits. Its consumption has since spread to Argentina, Brazil, Paraguay and Uruguay. It is very popular there as it is present in 90% of the homes in these countries.

In France, it is the footballer Antoine Griezmann who has made mate more popular. Since 2016, he has declared on several occasions that he drinks it daily.

The organic Maté Nature that we offer you comes from Brazil.

Manufacturing secrets

A precious plucking

ceuillette.jpg

Thés de La Pagode® respects an age-old tradition to ensure that all the benefits of tea are preserved. Indeed, the quality and fragrance of a tea are determined, among other things, by the type of leaf picked. In spring, in the gardens of Thés de la Pagode®, the "Imperial Plucking" is practiced: the pluckers select only the bud ("Pekoe" in Mandarin) and the first leaf. Another technique used is "fine picking". In this case, the pickers remove the bud and the first two leaves.
