Description
The Yunnan region is considered the birthplace of tea because of its hot, humid climate and its high plateaus making it extremely favourable for cultivating camellia sinensis (or the “tea tree"). There, amongst the clouds, you will find the oldest tea plants in the world, whose leaves have been harvested for thousands of years.
This tea grown at high altitudes is considered one of the best black teas in the world. Sweet and woody and bright red in colour, this tea has a unique honey flavour with floral notes.
Yunnan tea is a very popular because it combines the two characteristics most sought after by tea lovers, being light and sweet, while remaining full and rounded in taste. This delicious tea is the perfect choice for those who want to start getting into different varieties of tea.

A precious plucking
Thés de La Pagode® respects an age-old tradition to ensure that all the benefits of tea are preserved. Indeed, the quality and fragrance of a tea are determined, among other things, by the type of leaf picked. In spring, in the gardens of Thés de la Pagode®, the "Imperial Plucking" is practiced: the pluckers select only the bud ("Pekoe" in Mandarin) and the first leaf. Another technique used is "fine picking". In this case, the pickers remove the bud and the first two leaves.
