Description
Fall in love with this organic green tea flavoured with yuzu. We’ve chosen a Sencha green tea which delicately pairs with the lemon flavours of the yuzu, a small, celebrated citrus fruit from the Land of the Rising Sun. Sencha tea is THE most popular tea in Japan (and alone accounts for 50% of Japanese tea production). "Sencha" literally means "brewed tea" in Japanese. It’s a 100% Japanese tea for you to try!
What is yuzu?
Yuzu is a sour citrus fruit that's native to eastern Asia and is a hybrid of wild mandarin oranges and Ichang lemons. Yuzu is harvested in an unripened state for its zest and flavour or in a ripened state for its zest and juice. Very popular in Japan, where it accompanies savoury dishes and is used in beverages, sauces and pastries. Yuzu juice and its zest are often added at the last minute to broths, salads and desserts, etc. The result is a uniquely fruity fragrance with the tangy flavour of lime, yellow grapefruit and mandarin orange. In the West, it has been popularised by great chefs, including Ducasse, Robuchon and Pierre Gagnaire. These chefs love it for its unique taste and numerous benefits. It’s the new star of citrus fruits!
What are the benefits of yuzu?
Yuzu is rich in vitamin C, which is tied to immunity. In Japan, the whole fruit is traditionally dipped in bath water on the winter solstice to protect against colds, flu, etc.
Yuzu has numerous benefits:
• Antioxidant
• Anti-inflammatory
• Aids digestion
• Fortifies hair
What does our Organic Yuzu Green Tea taste like?
This organic yuzu green tea blend has long, regular leaves, characteristic of Sencha.
This Japanese tea results in a straw yellow, very clear liquid.
When sipped, this organic yuzu green tea presents slightly herbaceous botanical notes paired with tangy notes.
Here’s how we recommend preparing our Organic Yuzu Green Tea: infuse two grams for 3 - 4 minutes in 200ml of 80°C water.

A precious plucking
Thés de La Pagode® respects an age-old tradition to ensure that all the benefits of tea are preserved. Indeed, the quality and fragrance of a tea are determined, among other things, by the type of leaf picked. In spring, in the gardens of Thés de la Pagode®, the "Imperial Plucking" is practiced: the pluckers select only the bud ("Pekoe" in Mandarin) and the first leaf. Another technique used is "fine picking". In this case, the pickers remove the bud and the first two leaves.
